Canada’s productivity has lagged global peers for decades, with output per hour now 28% lower than the U.S. and ranked 18th among OECD countries. Productivity is ultimately about people—their knowledge, adaptability, and capacity to innovate.In Report 1, we explore the relationship between productivity and people, arguing that if Canada wants to drive productivity, it must reimagine how it develops and mobilizes human capital.
